“Reconstruction Cost” means the cost to construct, at current prices, a duplicate or replica of the building using materials, construction standards, design, layout and workmanship equal in quality and utility to the same building immediately prior to the insured limit.

“Business Income and Extra Expense” actual loss sustained.

“Blanket Limit of Covered Property including Employee Tools – $1,500,000 Limit” is applied separately at each premises. No per tool cap or sub limit.

“Extended Garagekeepers” is an additional $500,000 limit over the insured’s garagekeeper coverage on a legal liability basis.

“Autonomous Vehicle” coverage for customer’s autos including test drives in the autonomous mode.

“False Pretense” applies to Customer’s Autos or Business Personal Property when you voluntarily part with the covered property due to trick, scheme, or device. Labor is included – $200,000 limit.

Urgent “Loss Prevention Expenses” means reasonable and necessary costs you incur to protect a building or personal property from imminent direct physical loss. To the extent possible, notify us of your intent to incur such cost before you take any loss prevention action. In any event, you must notify us within 48 hours after you have taken any loss prevention action – $25,000 limit.

Cyber Risk including extortion from ransomware, network security liability and Privacy Incident Liability. Loss Prevention Tools: Website Monitoring; Online Employee Training; Sample Cyber Security Response Template.

Employment Practices Liability including access to sample employee handbook, checklists for various employment related activities, model employment applications and performance evaluations, web-based training for discrimination, sexual harassment and Legal Advice EPL Line.

MEET THE SPARK TEAM

David B Willett

David B Willett is the CUO and co-founder of SPARK Underwriters – committed to the automotive repair industry. He was a founder of the Universal Underwriters, which insured close to 16,000 automotive businesses including about 6,000 Collision Repairers. An AMI Board Member and several industry committees including CIC and CIECA, David has shared his experience with shop owners at SEMA, CARS, World Tire Expo, NAPG, Vision, CollisionAdvice, CoyoteVision, GAAS and more including the newly formed Southeast Collision Conference. He holds several insurance designations – Commercial Property Casualty Underwriter CPCU, Cyber Risk Designation CYB, Associate Loss Control Management ALCM. David earned an Economics Degree with a Concentration in Mathematics at the University of Texas in Austin where he also was a D1 basketball player. Recognized as one of the top leaders during his career, he has demonstrated the ability to develop leaders and teams.

Shaughn Kennedy

Shaughn Kennedy is the Senior Underwriter and co-founder of SPARK Underwriters. Shaughn has over 26 years of experience in the automotive industry at the OE Manufacturer, Commercial Insurance, and Automotive Dealership levels. 18 1/2 years of insurance claims experience includes claim investigations involving vehicles, medium and heavy-duty truck, farm equipment and machinery, industrial equipment, marine, recreational products, motorcycle, HVAC, commercial and residential structure fires, commercial and light automotive tires, and product liability claims. 5 years of commercial garage insurance program development, underwriting, risk selection, account service and sales in the automotive specialty repair market. Shaughn actively participates in CIC and CIECA Committees. He holds several automotive designations – ASE Master Certified Technician, TIA Commercial Tire Instructor, Bosch Crash Data Retrieval Technician, HVAC Technician EPA 608 Certification. Shaughn also has insurance designation of Associate In Claims (ANIS), active claims adjuster license and insurance producer licenses. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive/Power Technology from the University of Central Missouri.

Billy Eddy

Billy Eddy is the Technical Claims Director for SPARK Underwriters. Billy has 40 years of experience in the Automotive Industry as the OE Manufacturer, Commercial Insurance, Automotive Dealership and Automotive College Instructor levels. 28 years of insurance claims experience with claim investigations involving vehicles, medium and heavy-duty truck, farm equipment and machinery, industrial equipment, marine, recreational products, motorcycle, HVAC, plumbing, residential electrical and solar power, commercial and residential structure fires, automotive and equipment fires, commercial and light automotive tires, product liability claims, crash data retrieval and accident reconstruction. He actively volunteers and participates with advisory boards for local Schools and Colleges, NATEF Accreditation Committee, and is a SKILLS USA Judge at local, state, and national level events. Billy has the following designations: ASE Master Certified Technician, and 1st Place Winner of 2-National Trouble Shooting Contests with a reputable Automotive Manufacturer. Billy started his automotive career while enrolled as a full time student with his own business that rebuilt and repaired automatic transmissions. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology from Des Moines Area Community College.
